The walk from Rydal Water to Grasmere follows the River Rothay. The woodland path provides fine scenes especially in the autumn and especially when the sun is low and shining brightly.

I like the golden foliage in this photograph and also the strong radial shadows of the tree trunk stretching across the fast flowing waters. A true woodland scene.

Date taken 17 October 2009.
Settings: Pentax K10D with 18-55mm lens @ 20mm. Exposure 1/20sec @ f/8.
