Autumn on Loughrigg Fell (SS-03360)

Autumn on Loughrigg Fell. Ref. SS-03360

Climbing Loughrigg Fell is a must for those visiting Grasmere. The views of Grasmere from the ascent from Loughrigg Terrace must be seen to be appreciated.

Having reached the summit on this particular day, the views were marred by the misty conditions. Whilst Elter Water could clearly be seen to the south west, little of the western fells could be seen. Windermere to the south however was visible although far from clear.

I considered this scene from the summit looking south towards Windermere a worthy photo opportunity because of the vivid colours of the heathers and the bracken.

Date taken 19 September 2009.
Settings: Pentax K10D with 18-55mm lens @ 24mm. Exposure 1/8 sec @ f/8.
