The Rigg from Rowantreethwaite Beck (SS-02852)

The Rigg from Rowantreethwaite Beck. Ref. SS-02852

The Rigg is the unmistakably distinctive headland separating Riggingdale from Mardale Head. Parking at the small parking area at the foot of the Old Corpse Road provides easy access to the path which provides a route to the higher reaches of the Rowantreethwaite Beck.

This photograph is of the Rigg with the Rowantreethwaite Beck flowing in the foreground, topically a young Mountain Ash is growing on the left of the scene with a much older tree further down the beck.

Date taken 2 June 2009.
Settings: Pentax K10D with 18-55mm lens @ 21mm. Exposure 0.3 sec @ f/8.
