Howtown Wyke through the trees (SS-02702)
Parking the car at the top of the winding road section at The Coombs just to
the south east of Hallin Fell, provides immediate access to the footpath which
skirts Hallin Fell to the north.
The northern section of the path provides some excellent viewing points over
northern Ullswater, Howtown Wyke, the village of Howtown and the Fells beyond.
This photograph was taken shortly after the sun had risen over Swarth Fell and
was beating down on the scene. The sun brightly illuminated the leaves on the
tree and was a contrast to the cool calmness of the waters and yachts beyond.
Date taken 2 June 2009.
Settings: Pentax K10D with 18-55mm lens @ 45mm. Exposure 1/60th sec @ f/6.7.
